DIY Holiday Shrubs & Simple Syrups with Stonecutter Spirits

Join Martha Mack, Beverage Program Director for Stonecutter Spirits, as we learn how to make some of the holiday cocktail shrubs and simple syrups that Stonecutter currently features at Highball Social. Shrubs and simple syrups are easy to make, tons of fun to customize, and a great way to create your own ingredients for use in cocktails, mocktails, and other tasty beverages. Shrubs are a category of drinking vinegars, often infused with fruit, herbs, or spices. Simple syrups can be made with sugar (or other sweeteners) and are also often infused with fruit, herbs, or spices. Class participants will learn the history and basics of how shrubs and simple syrups are made, and how to use them in creative ways in drinks. Participants will get to make their own cold-pressed shrub to take home, along with their share of a simple syrup made by the group plus recipe cards and accoutrements for the perfect DIY holiday gift. Then, afterwards, anyone who wants to continue the fun can head next door to Highball Social to enjoy the cocktails in action!
