Setting up a back-yard compost pile that’s more than just a heap of rotting, stinky vegetables, attracting neighborhood raccoons, can be a daunting challenge. James McSweeney, of the Highfields Center for Composting, will join us to discuss how to easily compost kitchen and yard waste to create beautiful compost for our gardens rather than odor and animal problems for our neighbors. He’ll cover design options for compost piles and bins, compost maintenance, and how to tell when your compost is ready to feed your plants.

$5 for City Market Members, $10 for non-members
