Yield

4 Servings

Ingredients

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 package chicken wings (local if possible)
1⁄2 cup honey
2 tablespoons Mustard, Dijon
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
2⁄3 cup breadcrumbs (whole wheat)
1 teaspoon thyme, dried
1⁄2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (ground)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Grease a large baking sheet with the oil. Remove and discard wing tips from chicken wings. Separate each wing into 2 pieces at the joint.

Stir together the honey, mustard, and cider vinegar together in a large bowl. Combine bread crumbs, thyme, and ground red pepper on a plate.

Toss the wings in the honey mixture. Add 1 at a time to the crumb mixture and turn to coat completely, shaking off the excess.

Spread the wings on the prepared baking sheet. Bake, shaking the pan twice during the cooking or turning the wings with tongs, until the wings are well browned and crispy, 20-30 min. These can be served warm or refrigerated and travel well on picnics.
