Cardamom Hot Chocolate

Ingredients

2 tablespoons chocolate, dark (chopped)
1 teaspoon butter (salted)
1 cup milk
3 cardamom pods, green (crushed with the back of knife)
  pinch cinnamon, ground
1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla extract (or 1/2 vanilla bean (seeds scraped out))

Instructions

In a small saucepan, heat milk and cardamom pods over medium-low heat. Let simmer for 10 minutes. In another pan, heat butter and chocolate over medium-low heat. Stir until smooth. Whisking constantly, add hot milk in a steady stream. Remove from heat and remove cardamom pods. Stir in vanilla and serve immediately with a dash of cinnamon.
