The People's Farmstand

Food/Land Access

The People's Farmstand is a Burlington-based pop-up farmstand providing free local, organic produce. They believe that all people should have access to food that is culturally significant and is produced using environmentally conscious methods and fair labor practices. In partnership with The People’s Kitchen, they set up weekly in target neighborhoods to break down barriers to the typical farmers market experience, such as transportation and cost.

Volunteer Opportunities

The People's Farmstand has two main tasks available for volunteers: gardening and the farmstand. Gardening shifts happen Friday mornings, and involve weeding, harvesting, washing, and packing vegetables. Farmstand shifts happen Friday evenings and involve handing out and restocking veggies, talking with community members, and sharing other food access resources. There are opportunities for everyone, regardless of ability and experience.
