Helping and Nurturing Diverse Seniors (HANDS)

The mission of HANDS is to increase food access and food security for older adults (50+ years) in Chittenden County who are low-income.

Their work includes:

  • “Season’s Eatings” program that offers a  grocery gift card, greeting card, and food resource list for 1,500 seniors throughout Chittenden County during the holiday season
  • “HANDS Diverse Pantry” delivers fresh, healthy food to older adults in our BIPOC and immigrant communities
  • “HANDS in the Kitchen” interactive workshops with Chef Robin that cover topics such as cooking for one, shopping on a budget, eating healthy, & so much more

Volunteer Opportunities

Assist HANDS with special events, serving on event committees, picking up/dropping off items, and more!
