SERVICES
Yoga Therapy = therapy informed by an Eastern approach to the mind. It's not yoga instruction. It's a holistic approach to therapy that utilizes the body and nervous system to achieve a sense of safety within the Self, an understanding of thoughts and behavior, and manifest life change. Most clients have never and will never practice what most people consider "yoga." The therapeutic process uses the body as the main point of entry to the present moment, the mind, our behavior, our way of interpreting and moving through the world, and our deepest truth. It is based on the teachings, research, and practice of yoga, Ayurveda, Buddhism, neuroscience, and Psychology (as well as new and emerging systems and research).
Individual clients seek yoga therapy when they desire to incorporate more than just their mind and do more than just talk to engage in healing and transformation. This therapy is effective for helping clients to self-regulate and shift their state of being so that they feel different first. Then from a state of calm, connected, confidence, they work on their issues and goals. Many clients are working with conditions such as anxiety, depression, stress and burnout, chronic pain, poor relationships with their bodies, complex trauma, and more. People also come to work through a challenging life transition, enhance their lives, and develop personally and professionally. Christine sees adults and young adults in her offices in South Burlington and East Calais, and online, and welcomes all people to engage in this powerful practice.
Couples seek yoga therapy who wish to better understand how they show up in their relationship, their communication, and partnership, through this unique opportunity for embodied connection. Couples move together, breathe together, and be together in new ways that are playful, curious, emotional, and educational. They learn to independently self-regulate in order to listen and communicate with complete presence, non-violence, to connect and move forward together with intention.
Groups can schedule individual workshops, retreats, and series to cultivate understanding, build bonds, create better connection, and break through barriers. These experiences provide education, embodied experience and/or mindful outdoor experiences, as well as council facilitation.
Rewilding- Rewilding experiences help people to connect to themselves by connecting mindfully and reciprocally to the more-than-human world. These experiences have been shown to reduce stress, improve focus, and add to quality of life. Rewilding practices are interwoven into individual therapy sessions and group experiences, and can be offered as stand-alone workshops and series.
