Many people are now avoiding gluten due to an allergy or sensitivity to this protein found in wheat spelt, barley, rye, and most oats. While avoiding gluten may be intimidating at first, this introductory class will help you navigate the gluten free world and prepare healthy meals for your family. In this class we will discuss what gluten free means, tour gluten free products in the store, and sample an array of gluten free foods. This class will give participants ideas for gluten free alternatives to traditional holiday meals, and everyone will leave with several fall and winter gluten free recipes to try at home. Cristi Nunziata, City Market’s Herbal Education Coordinator, will lead this class.
