October is the time to plant garlic - a fun way to look forward to next summer and a satisfyingly easy crop to grow in a garden. Rachel Schattman, farmer at Bella Farm in Monkton, grows lots of garlic for her pesto each year. She’ll join us to talk about how to plant garlic in our gardens, options for mulching, and how to tell when the bulbs are ready to harvest. Rachel will also bring samples of the different kinds of garlic we can grow in Vermont.
