Help Our Neighbors in Need

people helping prepare thanksgiving meals

Food access is currently in jeopardy for many of our neighbors with SNAP contingency funds being withheld by the federal government. The State of Vermont is committing to cover 50% of funds, but not until November 7—impacting many of our neighbors.

Here are some of the immediate ways City Market is helping reduce the impact and how you can help, too.

Food For All Memberships not expiring until December 31

City Market will hold all current Food For All (FFA) Memberships through December 31, 2025—meaning that we will not let any expire regardless of timing. This discount program is designed to increase food access for Vermonters by providing discounts to enrollees. Anyone who participates in 3SquaresVT (SNAP benefits/EBT card), Federal Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), or Supplemental Security Income/Social Security Disability Insurance (SSI/SSDI) is eligible.

In-Store Food Drive through November

City Market will run an in-store food drive throughout November. Non-perishable items can be donated to both Customer Service desks.

Boxed Lunches through November 9

City Market will have boxed lunches available for folks with SNAP/EBT restrictions and are in need through November 9. Sign in with Customer Service to receive one meal per person per day.

Purchase a turkey at our November 8 Turkey Drive

City Market is partnering with Feeding Champlain Valley for a day-long Turkey Drive on November 8 at both store locations. Shoppers can purchase a turkey for $25 🦃 to support our neighbors in need this holiday season. Monetary and non-perishable food donations will be accepted as well.

Providing access to food for all is part of our mission. Join us in helping our neighbors who are in need.
