Downtown Parking Lot: Enter and Exit from S. Winooski Only

Due to ongoing safety concerns and the significant amount of foot and bike traffic far exceeding vehicle traffic, all vehicles must now use S. Winooski to both enter and exit the Downtown parking lot. The S. Union access point will no longer serve as a vehicle exit and will now be designated exclusively for pedestrians and cyclists as an egress.

While the plan to accommodate the old YMCA building construction project initially allowed vehicles to exit on S. Union Street, this change is intended to prioritize safety for pedestrians, cyclists, and construction crews while keeping traffic flow manageable for everyone. Please plan accordingly when arriving and leaving the store. We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we continue navigating this construction period together. The City of Burlington’s construction portal has updates and alerts for the latest infrastructure projects around town.

New Bread Vendor and In-Store Bread Stations

We’ve made some exciting changes to our bread sections! We’re constantly evaluating and curating our product offerings with care. Thanks to some of your tips along with our in-house expertise, we’re excited to introduce a new bread vendor to the mix—Max + Co Bakehouse! This rounds out our existing lineup of local bread vendors—many of which we’ve had longstanding relationships with that allows us to add more offerings.

Additionally, our artisan loaves have moved to new locations within both the Downtown and South End stores, and some baked goods have shifted as well. Keep an eye out for the wayfaring signage around the stores to get you to your favorites. August First Bakery, O Bread Bakery, Red Hen Baking and Stewart’s Bakery are now stationed along the back wall by the cheese and beer coolers at our Downtown location. Conventional breads are now located in aisle 6—conveniently next to the peanut butter and jelly! At the South End store, you’ll find a newly added artisan bread spot where warm wine and beer used to be. Adding more local vendors to our already extensive bread set!

Downtown Wellness Department Gets a Makeover

Just in time for sun and bug season, our Downtown’s Wellness department was reimagined early this summer, creating a more open space to find all the products you need to enhance your well-being—from sunscreen, bug spray and local skin products, to herbs and supplements. Plus, shoppers save 10% on all supplements including CBD every Tuesday as part of our Take Care Tuesdays program.

Shopping at the Co-op contributes to our mission to support local producers and strengthen our local food system and economy. Consider joining our Co-op community (if you haven’t already) and otherwise take advantage of your benefits of Membership. Thanks for your ongoing support of the Co-op!
