This monthly series is a collaboration with US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants Vermont (USCRI). To kick off our 2019/2020 class series, we invite you to join us for a special evening as we learn about traditional dishes from the Democratic Republic of Congo. Together, in class we will make a Rice Pilau with goat meat and vegetables and Chapati, a certain style of flatbread. The class instructor, Idaya Mami and her two young children arrived in the U.S. this past March and have made Winooski their home. Idaya is excited to share foods she loves from her home country the Democratic Republic of Congo.
