Help Feed Our Neighbors at Nov 8 Turkey Drive at City Market

Turkey Drive Nov 8 with Feeding Champlain Valley and City Market

This holiday season, Feeding Champlain Valley expects to receive more than 40,000 visits to their food shelves for groceries, requests for food delivery, visits for a hot meal, and emergency calls during times of crisis. According to Hunger Free Vermont, 2 out of every 5 Vermonters experience hunger and 40% of our Vermonter neighbors experience hunger daily.

Feeding Champlain Valley, the largest direct service emergency food provider in Vermont, is calling on you to help feed 10,000 families and neighbors before the end of the year. On November 8, shoppers can purchase a turkey at either City Market location for $25 to support our neighbors in need this holiday season.

Feeding Champlain Valley is a program of the Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity (CVOEO) that serves 14,500 people annually through food access programs. For 50 years, FCV has worked to address hunger through innovative programs rooted in compassion, dignity, and inclusivity. The organization is also a frequent recipient of City Market’s Rally for Change program.

Buying a turkey will help feed your neighbors experiencing food insecurity. If you’d like to make an additional impact for your neighbors, consider making a monetary donation to Feeding Champlain Valley's Holidays Without Hunger campaign, available in-store or via FeedingChamplainValley.org. Help us feed 10,000 families and neighbors:

  • $15.30 gets food to your neighbor facing hunger!
  • $30.60 gets food to 2 neighbors.
  • $76.50 gets food to 5 neighbors
  • $153.00 gets food to 10 neighbors
  • $306.00 gets food to 20 neighbors
  • $535.50 gets food to 35 neighbors
  • $765.00 gets food to 50 neighbors

Together, we can make a difference in our community so people can enjoy the holidays without hunger and help cultivate food for the greater good.
