Maple Corn Bread
Description
This bread would be great paired with soup or chili.
Ingredients
| 1 | Teaspoon (Metric) | salt |
| 2⁄3 | Cup | milk |
| 1⁄4 | Cup | maple syrup |
| 4 | Teaspoon (Metric) | baking powder |
| 2⁄3 | Cup | cornmeal |
| 1 1⁄3 | Cup | bread flour (sifted) |
| 2 | eggs (lightly beaten) | |
| 1⁄4 | Cup | butter (melted) |
Instructions
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease 9 inch square cake pan. Sift flour, baking powder and salt into a large mixing bowl. Stir in cornmeal with fork. Combine milk, 1/3 cup maple syrup, butter, and eggs; add to dry ingredients. Stir in just until blended. Spoon into pan and smooth. Drizzle remaining 1/4 cup maple syrup over batter. Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
