Southern Buttermilk Biscuits

Try making these irresistible buttermilk biscuits! This recipe was made in our Southern Comfort Cooking Class taught by Jason Gelrud.

Vegan Skillet Cornbread

This recipe is from our No Fuss Kitchen: Plant Based Holiday Meals cooking class taught by Meredith Knowles. Meredith says she prefers using the Miyoko’s non-dairy cultured butter. She says “It’s delicious and works to give a buttery flavor and browned edges. If you prefer not to use a butter substitute, you can experiment with chilled coconut oil. Chilling it helps keep it solid, and not mix more in the batter.” 

Pan De Muerto

These festive loaves are especially delicious warm from the oven and spread with butter. Serve with cinnamon-spiced hot chocolate or mulled cider for an autumn treat.

Nut & Seed Loaf

This is a mix between a bread and a loaf, but there is no flour in the recipe. It makes for great gluten-free “toast” because it holds its shape really well. You can find psyllium husk powder in City Market’s Wellness Department. 

Bacon and Olive Corn Loaf

This recipe was a finalist in our We ♥ Local Cornmeal recipe contest and was submitted by Baptiste Delvalle.  Baptiste says,"The flavor is amazing and it's a great potluck food. Because it's good cold too, its richness makes it a perfect picnic on a hike in snowy Vermont!"

Maple Parsnip Oat Muffins

This recipe was submitted as part of our We ♥ Local Parsnips Recipe Contest by Corey Burdick. Corey says, "I love that these are savory muffins with just a hint of sweetness from the maple syrup. No refined sugar, gluten-free, and vegan while still feeling like a special indulgence with morning coffee!"

Quick Parsnip Dinner Rolls

This recipe was submitted in our We ♥ Local Parsnips Recipe Contest by Shepherd Lantz.  Shepherd says, "I took a simple Betty Crocker recipe for Quick Dinner Rolls and with the help of parsnips, coconut oil, Vermont maple syrup, and cinnamon, I transformed the regular recipe into a special parsnip delight! These buns can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or any snack in-between."

Rosemary Skillet Bread

Add a new spin to your rolls or bread on your holiday table with this recipe.  

Homemade Whole Wheat Pita Bread

This pita bread dough is soft and easy to roll, making it very kid-friendly! The trick is to pat or spray the rounds with a little water on the top just before baking, to help them puff up! The recipe was taught in a City Market kids’ cooking class.

Whole Wheat Biscuits

Serve warm with butter and honey.  If you are gluten-free, try making this recipe with gluten-free flour!
