Educational Class Update from Your Co-op!
City Market offers a year-round roster of in-person classes, virtual classes, and outdoor programming. For the sake of fellow attendees and staff, please do not attend any in-person City Market class if you feel unwell. Our classes are appropriate for people aged 16 and older. We appreciate your cooperation!

Visit a hidden gem in Burlington to practice tree identification in the woods of Arms Forest with Naturalist GeneO Desideraggio. This site has an interesting social and geological history, and a myriad of unique plants and natural features.
Spaces for this walk are limited and registration is required. Please note we will be meeting in the parking lot of the North Ave. Alliance Church for this walk.
5:30pm - 7:00pm
Peter Burke will teach us how to plan and implement garden strategies for success to maximize production in small spaces. We'll discuss "garden math", container gardening, the square foot method, and more. Peter Burke is a Certified Square Foot Garden Teacher and has been using and teaching the Square Foot Gardening method since 1981.
Class will be held in the Community Room of the South End store.

Employee-owned Switchback Brewing Co. has been brewing unfiltered beer in Burlington, Vermont since 2002. They'll be at our Downtown store on Friday, May 10 sampling some of their excellent brews - stop in and give them a try!
9:30am - 11:00am
Create a home-cooked spring brunch that is both delicious and healthy. In this live cook-along class, Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner Lili Hanft will guide you through how to prepare a nourishing feast made from nutrient-dense, whole-food ingredients. This class will be held on the Microsoft Teams platform, and joining instructions will be sent to participants in advance.
5:30pm - 7:30pm
Join us for a delicious Ethiopian & Eritrean meal--shiro, a sauce made of chickpea flour, and atkilt alicha, a spiced vegetable medley. We'll enjoy the meal with her fabulous injera, the fermented flatbread common to Ethiopian & Eritrean cuisine. This class will be taught by Mulu Tewelde, who came to Vermont from Eritrea in 2006 and enjoys sharing her knowledge and love of Eritrean and Ethiopian cooking.
This class will be held in the Community Room of the South End City Market. Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell or have been a COVID close contact.
