Ramps Are Here!

 Also known as wild leeks, ramps have aromatic flavors of garlic and onion and make a great addition to many dishes.  They are a delicious sign that spring has arrived! 




With smooth, green leaves and a purple-tinged scallion-like bulb, a ramp is a member of the onion family (Alliaceae). Use ramps raw or cooked in any recipe calling for scallions or leeks.  Try pickling ramps or adding them to scrambled eggs.  Just make sure to enjoy these fleeting treasures of spring!
