The three runners up were:
• Butternut Squash & White Bean Soup - submitted by Erica Green
• Curried Roasted Squash Soup - submitted by Barbara Burrington
• Hearty Kale & Kielbasa Soup - submitted by Linda Glenn

Recipes were judged based on:
1.) Use of Local Ingredients
2.) Simplicity
3.) Taste (It's gotta taste good, right?)

Customers who attended the Local Soup-Making Class on January 12 judged the three approved soups after learning how to make a delicious soup from scratch using seasonal local ingredients. The Souper Bowl Challenge winner  received a $50 City Market gift card.

100 soup kits containing ingredients to recreate the winning recipe will be assembled by Co-op Member Workers on January 26 to be presented to the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf !
