Ingredients

1Cupall-purpose flour
3⁄4Cupwhole wheat pastry flour
3⁄4Teaspoonbaking soda
3⁄4Teaspoonbaking powder
1⁄2Teaspoonsalt
1Cupsugar
1⁄2Cupmolasses
2 1⁄2Teaspoonvanilla
1Cupdark chocolate chips
3 1⁄2Cuprolled oats
2 eggs (large)
1⁄2Teaspooncinnamon (ground)
1⁄2Teaspoonnutmeg (ground)
1⁄2Poundbutter (unsalted, softened)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350. Grease cookie sheets or line with parchment paper. Whisk together dry ingredients. In a separate bowl, beat together butter, sugar, molasses, eggs, and vanilla. Stir the flour mixture into butter mixture until well-blended. Stir in chocolate chips and rolled oats. Drop heaping tablespoons onto cookie sheet and bake about 8-10 minutes, until almost firm when lightly touched in the middle. Makes about 3 ½ dozen 3-inch cookies.
