Considering the Kohlrabi

Simon, City Market’s Demo Coordinator, will be highlighting one of the least understood vegetables around – the kohlrabi! A cultivar of the wild cabbage plant, kohlrabi holds a particular place of honor in both German and Kashmiri cuisine and is surprisingly versatile and tasty in the kitchen. We’ll be sampling two styles of kohlrabi from Vermont-based Deep Root Organic Co-op - raw slices with Vermont Hummus Company hummus, as well as roasted kohlrabi with olive oil, salt and pepper.
