Beer and Wine April Newsletter: Local Spotlight

This month’s feature is a small microbrewery located in Brandon, VT known for brewing very big beers! Brothers Dan and Patrick Foley of Foley Brothers Brewing began their brewing careers after helping to establish a family winery on the grounds of The Inn at Neshobe River. They began to produce a list of highly acclaimed ales, the most sought-after being their IPAs and Double IPAs.

Being a small-batch craft brewery, the Foley brothers distribute their own beer to their retailers once a week, one pickup truck load at a time. Foley Brothers Brewing has truly mastered the double IPA/imperial IPA style which has become so iconic of Vermont brewers. Once these beers get to the store they don’t last long! Look for some of their most popular varieties including:

·         Fair Maiden double IPA

·         Pieces of Eight double IPA (dry hopped with 8 hop varieties)

·         Prospect double IPA (with VT and Maine grown grains)

·         Skeleton Crew double IPA (with 12lbs of juicy hops added to each barrel!)
