Shelburne Vineyard, known for their cold hardy wines, is considered one of the best wineries in the Northeastern U.S.

After retiring from IBM in 1998,  Ken Albert started the winery known as Shelburne Vineyards. He leased three acres of land from Shelburne Farms and in 1999 he planted an additional three acres of grapes on the land on Meach Cove, near the beach in Shelburne.

In 2000, Scott Prom, who had over 15 years of winemaking experience, came to Albert and proposed a partnership and with that, Shelburne Vineyard released their first vintage in 2001.

Shelburne Vineyard eventually expanded in 2006 to the 14 acre plot on Route 7 in Shelburne where they reside today along with their state of the art tasting room.

By 2013 they had expanded again, this time purchasing 1.5 acres in Charlotte, VT, bringing the vineyards productive vineyards to 15.5 acres.
