Lincoln Peak Vineyard
This month, we’d like to focus on one of our Vermont wineries: Lincoln Peak Vineyard.  Located south of Burlington near Middlebury, VT, Lincoln Peak Vineyard grows cold hardy grape varieties that they use to make delicious wine.  The grapes they grow are Marquette, Frontenac, La Crescent, Louise Swenson, Prairie Star, Swenson Whites, Frontenac Gris, Frontenac Blanc, and Adalmiina.  They also grow Somerset Seedless Table Grapes and Black Currants.

The vineyard is owned and operated by Chris Granstrom, his wife Michaela, and their daughter Sara. Chris and Michaela started farming their land in 1981, first as an apple tree nursery.  They then grew strawberries for more than 20 years, and then transitioned into growing grapes for wine.  They made their first batch of commercial wine in 2006, and they now make about 25,000 bottles of wine per year, all made from grapes grown locally on their farm.  We currently carry Lincoln Peak’s Marquette and La Crescent. We suggest you give them a try, and if you have a favorite, let us know!
