Our Meat and Seafood Department features incredible, fresh choices for every taste and budget.
As a Co-op, we act as buyers for our members and shoppers, not as sellers for an outside supplier. So you can believe that when we shop for seafood, meats and poultry to pass on to you, we’re looking for the best we can find.
The Co-op's Seafood Counter is open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily. Fresh fish is delivered six days a week. Our staff is always willing to cut the fish to order or remove the skin, anything that will enhance your shopping experience. We also carry fresh sushi made right here in-house. It‘s light, affordable, healthy and delicious! Features include Brown Rice Sushi and Bento boxes.
We carry a wide range of meats and poultry, conventional as well as organic and local choices. We have the largest selection of Vermont meats and poultry in the region.

Laplatte River Angus Farm: All natural Black Angus hormone and antibiotic free beef from Shelburne, VT.
Hardwick Beef: All natural 100% grass fed pastured beef sourced from Vermont farms.
Maplewood Natural Organics: Certified Organic Grass fed beef from Highgate, VT
Misty Knoll Farm: All natural free to roam chickens, and free range turkeys from New Haven, VT.
Stonewood Farm: All natural free range turkey, and turkey products from Orwell, VT.
VT Smoke and Cure: All natural sausage, bacon, and hams, using pork purchased from Stand in Quebec, Canada. All processed, smoked and cured in Barre,VT.
We also offer a variety of City Market made specialty meat products including homemade Italian sausage and the popular pre-made burgers with combinations of savory flavors including sweet onions, sundried tomatoes, cheddar or jalapeño peppers.
City Market butchers will be happy to provide you with fresh cuts in-house, and our beef is ground here as well. If you are looking for something special for an event or a holiday dinner, we’d be happy to order it for you.
