Check Out the New Displays in Bulk

Next time you're in the market, you may notice a new look in our bulk liquid and nut butter area. We've installed brand new fixtures to hold the various dispensers and have switched from the big buckets of nut butters to four slick grinding machines. Most of the dispensers are now at eye level and have wider spigots, so all-in-all, we think the new layout will be easier to use. Plus, a specialized tank for honey will gently warm the honey for optimum flow from the tank to your container.

Frequently Asked Questions regarding the new bulk liquids / nut grinder fixtures:

Q: Why have you switched to using grinders for the nut butters?

A: We have switched to grinders to increase overall food safety, and to create a cleaner shopping environment.

Q: What happened to the Once Again nut butters?

A: We still sell a nice selection in Aisle 4 and we’ll also have this company’s nut butters available for purchase in 9 lb tubs. This item is often on sale, so be sure to check out the Co-op Deals flyer.

Q: Will I still be able to buy tahini in bulk, since it cannot be vended from a grinder?

A: We are still offering bulk organic tahini from the bucket and will have conventional tahini prepackaged in deli cups.

Q: Why is the honey in a heated tank?

A: The honey that we sell has already been heated for optimal flow. The heated tank is warming the honey as way to prevent any crystallization which would clog the dispensing unit. It is not heating the honey to a degree where it would be considered cooked.

Q: Have the liquid soap bins been improved in any way?

A: Yes! The new bins for the liquid soaps and detergents will use wide mouth spigots, so they will not clog as easily. The bins are also located closer to arms-length, so filling a container will not require squatting down to the floor. However, stockers will still be happy to assist customers if the container they are filling is large.
