The Vermont Farmstead Cheese Company is the first community owned artisan cheese and dairy facility in Vermont, begun as a neighborhood effort to save a local hillside farm and its surrounding rural landscape. They now create small batch, traditional world cheeses with a Vermont twist. The milk used to create the cheese comes from the farm's herd of Holstein, Jersey, Ayrshire, Brown Swiss and Milking Shorthorn cows. In 2013, Vermont Farmstead Cheese Company began a partnership with Whitney's Castleton Crackers, bringing the cheese and crackers under one roof - a perfect combination!
