LaPlatte River Angus Farm

Jim Kleptz started LaPlatte River Angus Farm as a hobby in 1973 before anyone even knew what grass-fed beef was. Jim, with the help of his 3 sons, farm 650 acres in Charlotte and Shelburne, an amazing feat in keeping Chittenden County in working landscapes during decades of development pressure. The animals are fed Sudan grass and a mixture of rotational crops without any chemical fertilizers or pesticides and are never fed hormones. Antibiotics are only used for treating sick animals.
