Charoset

During the Passover Seder, charoset is served with matzo. It can also be enjoyed over oatmeal at breakfast or as a sweet side for lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

3 apples (finely chopped)
1 cup walnuts (finely chopped)
1⁄2 cup raisins, golden
1⁄4 cup red wine ((kosher) or grape juice )
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon lemon zest
1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
1 pinch salt

Instructions

In a large bowl, combine the chopped apples, walnuts and raisins. In a cup, stir the red wine or grape juice, honey, lemon zest and cinnamon. When well mixed, pour over the apple mixture. Add a pinch of salt, if desired, and toss to mix.

Serve immediately, or cover tightly and refrigerate for later.
