Beer and Wine December Newsletter: Local Spotlight

Idletyme Brewing Company, née Crop Bistro and Brewery, was purchased in May of 2015 by Michael and Laura Kloeti, famous for Michael’s on the Hill Restaurant in Waterbury, which seems to win awards left and right. Their plans are to transition slowly away from the Crop Bistro branding and move toward Idletyme Brewing Company packaging. If you’re a fan of Crop Bistro brewing, fret not! Will Gilson remains at the helm of the brewing operations, and his delicious recipes shall remain the same.

Crop Bistro opened in the old Shed Brewery location after they moved down to Middlebury, catering to tourists and locals alike. Their focus was on locally sourced “Farm to table” recipes, served in a casual, yet elegant, setting, with their beer tanks located right in the taproom. You could literally watch Will in the brewing process as you sipped the final product.

Idletyme Brewing Company offers a wide range of beer styles, from Bavarian Lagers to American Pale Ale. Here at City Market, we are proud to carry a constant rotating stock of whatever may be currently available, including the Doubletyme Double IPA, Vanilla Porter, Belgian Trippel, Idletyme Double IPA, and the brand new Fall Doppelbock.
