Beer and Wine June E-Newsletter: Department News

By Joey Bowling, Beer and Wine Manager

The ship is sailing steady as she goes. We continue to look for new ways to merchandize beer, wine, cider, mead, and sake’ and have moved all of the delicious Citizen Cider to an easily reachable space, namely the well of the front endcap. Now the cider is not only more accessible, but we can keep more of it cold!

Rose’ continues to have a heavy presence at City Market because the people have spoken; and they said, “we want more Rose’!” I know you all love the pinks from France, Spain, and Italy, which we stock in abundance, but have you ever considered trying Rose’ from the Green Mountain State? You should. Specifically: Rose’ La Juju from Boyden Valley and Little Piggy Pink from Fresh Tracks. The Little Piggy is made from 100% Vermont grown Frontenac and has notes of cherry and dark fruit and finishes off-dry. The Rose’ La Juju is made from Frontenac and Cayuga varietals, all Vermont grown as well, and is a little darker in color, dry, with flavors of strawberry and cherry. Either one would provide needed relief from mowing the lawn and is something unique to pour at the barbeque.
