Pumpkin is a favorite ingredient in Burmese cooking. In this class, Zar Ni Maw will show us to cook pumpkin Burmese-style, making a rich, tamarind curry with pumpkin and pork. Zar Ni Maw is a gentle woman whose fierce spirit enabled her to survive the civil war in Burma and then go on to graduate from Oberlin College. She will demonstrate how common ingredients are combined in unique ways to create Burmese cuisine. This class is part of the Mosaic of Flavors series, a collaboration with the Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program.
