Greg Finch raises pastured pigs, and lamb, as well as beef cows on his farm in Enosburg Falls. Greg pastures his animals every few days to new pasture to avoid causing erosion and allow the pasture grasses to regenerate between grazings. In winter or in bad weather, the pigs are in hoop barns. In addition to the pasture grasses and hay eaten by pastured pigs, farmers need to supplement the animals’ diet. Greg buys non-GMO corn and soy from a local farm in Franklin. He mixes these grains with minerals on his farm to create pig feed.
