LaPlatte River Angus Farm (Shelburne)

Jim Kleptz started LaPlatte River Angus Farm as a hobby in 1973 before anyone even knew what grass-fed beef was. Jim, with the help of his 3 sons farm 650 acres in Charlotte and Shelburne, an amazing feat in keeping Chittenden County in working landscapes during decades of development pressure. The animals are out on pasture 12 months a year and are never fed hormones. Antibiotics are only used for treating sick animals. City Market carries LaPlatte River Angus beef year-round.
