La Panciata was started in 1992 focusing on Italian-style breads. Owned by Glen and Lori Loati, the bakery has grown by word of mouth over the years. Glen and Lori try to use as many locally sourced ingredients as possible and donate bread to numerous charities because they believe "that healthy bodies make strong minds." They are also a bread supplier for the VT WIC program. In 2011, Hurricane Irene flooded the bakery, but Glen and Lori were able to get the bakery back in operation within 2 weeks!
