Intervale Compost Products (Burlington)

Intervale Compost Products was created by Gardener's Supply in 1987 to help restore the depleted agricultural lands of the Intervale.  It has since grown to become Vermont's leading compost operation, recycling 20,000 tons of food scraps and yard waste each year.  In Chittenden County, food scraps account for nearly 33% of most people's trash!  Composting allows microorganisms to decompose organic material, producing a nutrient rich soil amendment for gardens and houseplants.  Intervale potting soil, compost and germinating mixes are available in the produce department of City Market.
