Crawford Family Farm is a small family farm that turns cows' milk into artisan cheese. Siblings Jim, Cindy and Sherry Crawford grew up on their parent’s dairy farm in Whiting, VT, assuming the family business and beginning to make cheese. They now produce Vermont Ayr, a semi-hard alpine style cheese (similar to a gouda but better!). The farm says, “We call our Farmstead cheese Vermont Ayr because the two most important ingredients in our recipe are a good splash of Vermont's fresh air along with the sweet milk from our Ayrshire cows.” This a delicious cheese to have out on a cheeseboard, or it would be a great cheese to use in a recipe like Frittata with Fresh Greens.
