Local Sweetness: Honey Mead and Goat’s Milk Caramel

City Market’s Spring Farm Tour
Saturday, June 30
9:30am – 5:00pm
Free for City Market members!

Two creative farms in Central Vermont are crafting sweet local foods – goat’s milk caramel and honey mead. We’ll take a trip to visit the people, farms and animals where these products originate. Fat Toad Farm in Brookfield, Vermont makes an utterly unique and irresistible Goat’s Milk Caramel Sauce based on the traditional Mexican confection known as cajeta. Handcrafted with fresh milk from their own herd of pastured dairy goats, we’ll get to meet their animals and learn about the process. We’ll also stop by Artesano in beautiful Groton, Vermont where they produce high-quality, hand-crafted meads from local Vermont honey and fruit. They also make ice cream at their scoop shop next-door, incorporating Fat Toad’s caramel sauce!

The tour is free for City Market members. Non-members will be placed on a waiting list. Transportation and ice cream are provided!
