Cuban picadillo is home-cooked comfort food with a little extra pizzazz, thanks to the sweet and piquant flavor combinations of ground beef simmered with tomatoes, raisins, and olives. This is the kind of easy weeknight meal that both kids and adults love. Coconut flan is a rich, custard-like dessert with a hint of cinnamon and lemon rind. A first-generation Cuban American who now lives in Vermont, Ammy Martinez loves to share recipes from her cultural and culinary heritage. This class will be taught in English, but Spanish-speakers are welcome!
